"Alisha Wessler is not present physically in her work. Instead she takes us directly deeply inside her mind, into a universe of dreams. Alice-like her drawings morph and change as we watch, with figures and narratives emerging as our eyes enter into the work. This series 'Necessary Territories' provides hints of narratives, but takes us deeper, inviting us to enter storehouse of the collective unconscious, where free associations are likely to spark an individual response in every viewer."
