Interview for the Portland Art Open
"Alisha Wessler’s drawings are little vignettes of organic beauty: figures and fauna emerge from densely patterned masses that evoke the plants and landscape where they reside. They are successful often in the way that they deny expectations. Her drawings are small but panoramic, decorative yet expansive, and dense while still providing the viewer’s eye room to explore."

Sincerely Yours
Sarah Baum and I are co-curating a benefit show for Artists for the Arts (AFTA), a non-profit whose mission is to ensure that the arts remain an integral part of education in Portland's public schools. "Sincerely Yours, PDX" is a collection of postcard-sized works on paper, featuring over 100 different artists and displayed anonymously; all works will be sold for the same price, 100% proceeds going directly to AFTA.

The show is up at Stumptown (4525 SE Division St, Portland, OR) during the month of September with a closing reception on the 28th, 5-7pm.
