Back Channels
A large, two part installation I made at Johansson Projects during July 2009
"...Alisha Wessler crafts capillary hammocks of mother nature's whimsies. Caped sirens and Russian dolls are unearthed among etched labyrinths of moss whispers.
For Back Channels, Wessler has constructed a hand-sewn cave, swallowing the aesthetic of the real in one generous gulp."
The installation features a soundtrack made from original recordings of the Luray Caverns' "Great Stalacpipe" Organ, rearranged and re-mixed with help from mastering engineer Timothy Stollenwerk
A two-person show also featuring paintings by Evan B. Harris,
on display from July 3rd to August 1st 2009
